This Referral Terms & Disclosure Policy outlines how referral relationships operate between Strata Consultants (“we”, “us”, “our”) and third-party referrers, and how we ensure transparency to clients regarding any referral fees or benefits.We are committed to ensuring that all referral arrangements are conducted openly, ethically, and with the full knowledge and consent of the client.

What is a Referral?

A referral occurs when a third party (“Referrer”), such as a real estate professional or advisor, introduces a client to Strata Consultants for potential services.

Referral Fees and Benefits

In some circumstances, Strata Consultants may pay a referral fee or provide a benefit to a Referrer where:

A referral results in a client engaging our services; and
The engagement meets our internal criteria for referral recognition.

The referral fee or benefit may take various forms, including:

A fixed fee;
A percentage of fees received; or
Another agreed commercial benefit.

The specific amount or structure of any referral fee may vary depending on the nature of the engagement.

Commitment to Transparency

We operate a fully transparent referral model.

Where a referral fee or benefit may be paid:

The existence of the referral relationship will be disclosed to the client;
The client will be informed that the Referrer may receive a financial or other benefit; and
The client will have the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether to proceed.

We do not support or engage in undisclosed referral arrangements.

Referrer Obligations

By participating in our referral program, Referrers agree that they will:

Disclose the referral relationship to the client at the time of referral;
Inform the client that they may receive a referral fee or benefit if the client engages Strata Consultants;
Ensure the client is aware that they are free to choose whether or not to proceed; and
Obtain the client’s consent to share their details with Strata Consultants.

Referrers must not:

Misrepresent the nature of the referral arrangement;
Suggest that the referral is independent if a benefit may be received; or
Apply pressure or influence that could undermine the client’s ability to make an informed decision.

Client Awareness and Consent

Strata Consultants will take reasonable steps to ensure that referred clients are aware of any referral arrangement.

This may include:

Verbal disclosure during initial contact;
Written disclosure in correspondence or engagement documentation; and/or
Confirmation prior to the commencement of services.

Clients are under no obligation to proceed and may choose to engage or not engage our services regardless of any referral arrangement.

Independence of Advice

Any referral fee or benefit:

Does not influence our recommendations or services;
Does not result in preferential treatment of Referrers; and
Does not affect the fees payable by the client unless expressly disclosed.

Our duty is to provide services that are in the best interests of the client based on their specific circumstances.

No Guarantee of Payment

A referral fee or benefit is only payable where:

A valid referral is made; and
The referred client successfully engages Strata Consultants; and
Any agreed conditions for payment are satisfied.

We reserve the right to determine eligibility for referral payments at our discretion.

Privacy and Data Sharing

Referrers must obtain the client’s consent before providing personal information to Strata Consultants. All personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
